Paripp vada / Dal vada
Parippu vada is an easy to make vada recipe. A really quick and easy crispy snack perfect for evening tea times !!
Ingredients
Toor dal - 1 cup
Red chillies - 3
Fennel seed - 1/4 tsp
Shallots - 12
Green chillies - 2
Ginger - 1"
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 cup ( for deep frying )
Method
1. Wash and soak dal in water for 3-4 hrs and drain it (make sure it is drained well ).
2. Chop ginger, green chilly, shallots and curry leaves finely.
3. Coarse grind dal, fennel seed and red chilly without adding water ( do not grind to smooth paste).
4. Add chopped ingredients and salt to the ground mixture and mix well.
5. With your wet hands make equal sized balls with the mixture then make it as circle shape by pressing with your palm.
6. Heat oil in a deep bottom pan. When oil is hot reduce flame to medium and deep fry the vadas by turning both sides till golden brown.
7. Drain excess oil and serve hot with a cup of tea 😃.
