Vegetable Rawa Upma
Vegetable upma is an easy to prepare traditional south indian breakfast. Plus you can also make it healthier by adding lot of boiled veggies like carrot, beans, corns and peas along with rawa.
Ingredients
2 cup roasted rawa
2 tbsp oil
2tsp ghee
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped and boiled veggies ( peas,carrot,corn,carrot)
1/2 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 green chilly chopped
1" ginger chopped
2 dry red chillies
Salt as reqd.
water 2 cup + few tbsp
Preparation Method
1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
2. Add dry red chillies and curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
3. Add onion, green chilly and ginger saute till the onion become soft.
4. Add turmeric powder mix well.
4. Add boiled veggies and saute for few seconds more.
5. Add in 2 cups of water ,salt and ghee . Bring water to a boil on medium flame.
6. Gently pour the rawa to the boiled water with one hand and keep stirring with your other hand to avoid lumps.
7. Keep stirring until you have soft anf fluffy upma and all water is evaporated.
8. Cover and cook upma for 2-3 minutes.
9. Delicious rawa upma is ready. Serve hot
