Green peas masala curry





Green peas curry is a delicious vegetarian dish. The addition of
coconut milk gives a nice flavour to this curry. Perfect with appam/chappati.


Ingredients
green peas - 2 cups ( soaked overnight)
Onion - 1 ( finely chopped)
ginger - 1" (crushed)
garlic - 2-3pods ( crushed)
green chilly - 2 ( chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
1 cup thick coconut milk
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
coriander powder - 1 tsp
garam masala - 1/2 tsp
dry red chilly - 2
curry leaves - 1 spring
mustarsd - 1/2 tsp
oil - 2tbsp
salt as reqd

Method

1. Pressure cook green peas for 3 whistles by adding water and salt.

2. Heat oil in a pan splutter mustard. Add dry red chillies and curry leaves saute for few seconds.

3. Add ginger, garlic and green chilly saute tll raw smell goes and then add sliced onion. Saute until onion turn translucent. Add spice powders on low flame and saute until nice aroma comes.

4.  Add in the tomato, mix well close the lid and cook till tomto turn soft and oil seperates.

5. Add the cooked green peas along with remaining water in the cooker. Close lid and bring it to boil.

6.  Once it starts boiling reduce flame to low and add  coconut milk. Cook till one or two bubbles start appearing on top then switch off flame
