Fish Roast Masala


This is a very simple but delicious fish roast recipe. A real treat for fish lovers !

Ingredients

To marinate
Fish ( Any fleshy fish King fish/karimeen / Tilapia) -2 ( I used karimeen)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt as reqd.
Lime juice - 1/2 tsp

For Masala
Onion - 2 (thinly sliced)
tomato - 1 chopped
green chilly - 2 finely chopped
ginger - 1" crushed
garlic - 2-3pods crushed
curry leaves - 3-4 springs
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
redchilly powder - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 1tsp
pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
garam masala - 1/2 tsp
salt as reqd

Preparation Method

1. Marinate the fish with ingredients listed above for 30 minutes.

2. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a pan and slightly fry fish on medium heat and set aside.

3. In the same pan pour 1tbsp oil add crushed ginger , garlic,green chillies , onion and curry leaves. Saute until onion turn translucent.

4. Reduce flame and add all spice powders and salt. Saute till raw smell goes.

5. Add chopped tomato. Continue to saute till tomato turn soft.

6. Add the fried fish and coat it with masala.

7. Cover and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.

8. When gravy thickens transfer it to a plate and serve hot with rice/chappati .
