Soft and Puffed Pooris !!



Poori or deep fried indian bread is very famous in India and is commonly enjoyed during breakfast or at snack time. It makes awsome combo with potato masala. Preparing this soft and fluffy pooris at home is very easy. Try this simple recipe and enjoy !!!

Ingredients
Wheat flour ( atta) - 2 cups
Salt to taste
Warm water
Oil for deep frying

Instructions

1. In a bowl take flour, add salt and mix it well.

2. Add warm water little by little while you mix the flour . Then carefully sprinkle water to knead to a smooth dough.

3. Keep a side covered for 10minutes and then again knead it to make it smooth without cracks.

4. Divide dough into equal sized balls roll out into circles not too thick not too thin.

5. Heat oil in a kadai. To check if the oil is hot for frying, drop a small piece of dough into hot oil. If it sizzles and comes up to the surface immediately then the oil is hot enough.

6. Take one rolled dough gently slide it from one side into the oil. After few seconds slightly press poori with a slotted spoon. As you press it gently it would start puffing up. Keep turning and fry till golden brown. Carefully flip it to the other side and let it cook for a few seconds.

7. Remove poori with a slotted spoon and keep in a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.

8. Repeat the same steps with rest of the pooris.

9. Serve hot with potato masala.
